Mei Tais
Mei tais, also known as Asian baby carriers(ABC), have been around for centuries! This type of carrier is gaining popularity in the US. Mei tais evenly distribute the weight of the baby or toddler when you are wearing them making them extremly comfortable. You can use the mei tai from birth to approx 40lbs. It is also able to be worn numerous ways. You can do a Front Carry, Hip Carry, or Back Carry. Mei Tais are also great for dads!
Features of the Original Baby Size Dream Carrier:
*A lightly padded contoured body- 20in tall(including the 4in wide waist strap), 17in wide at the top &
bottom, 13in wide in the middle

Benefits of the Original Baby Size Dream Carrier:
*Contoured body has less bulk and fits the babies body. The narrow design
allows you to roll the bottom for younger babies allowing them to be seated
in the carrier with their legs out.
*4in wide padded shoulder straps offer extra comfort for you even while
carrying your baby for longer periods of time.
*Leg padding keeps your baby's legs comfy and from getting red marks while
wearing them.
*Waist padding offers extra support for older babies, making it even more

Original Dream Carrier Design
The Original DC has a lightly padded body, a curved top and does not include a hood or chest
strap, but those can both be added on. The padded body and curved top offer a comfortable yet supportive carrier for your baby. The Original DC is also known as the "Baby-size". It is recommended for babies age 6wks & up to 4 yrs(although I have carried a seven year old in the baby size, though I would not recommend that. :) I do suggest that you wait until the baby has full neck control and can hold his/her head up.
Soft Structured Dream Carrier Info:
The Soft Structured Dream Carrier uses the Original DC body design, plus seat darts and a structured waist. It does not come with a hood, but a hood can be added for an additional cost. This is a carrier that is meant to be worn on your hips, putting less weight on your shoulders and back. It can be used for front, hip or back carries. The SSDC comes in one size an should fit most people. The SSDC is able to be used with babies as young as 6wks & up to preschool!
Toddler Dream Carrier Info:
I designed the Toddler Dream Carrier for anyone looking for a carrier that will fit larger toddlers. I would suggest the TDC for children 2yrs & up. The body of the carrier is approx 18in tall with a 4.5in structured waist band. The body of the carrier also has seat darts which allows the toddler to sit well in the carrier. The carrier is meant to be worn Non apron style on the wearer's hips. The TDC does not come with a chest strap, but that is an additional option.
The TDC is available in a half buckle or full buckle only with the structured waist. You may order a TDC Mei Tai, but it will not have the structured waist, it will have the normal padded DC waist.
DC Half Buckle Wrap Transformation Info:
The DC half buckle wrap transformation is when you send me a wrap(4.6+) and I transform it into a half buckle Dream Carrier using your wrap. All Dream Carrier WT's have a bottomweight inner layer that the straps and hood are attached to. This will cause less stress on the wrap and will make your carrier more durable. You do have the option of adding a print fabric to the body and/or hood as well as hemp silk lining for the hood and body. For the DC HBWC you get to customize your half buckle. Here are your customization choices-
* Padded Mei Tai straps or Wrap straps
* Preferred shoulder strap length
* Original or Toddler body style
* Padded or structured waistband
* Hood
* Seat darts
* Hood applique available for an additional cost(+$15 & up)
* Add a print to the body & hood (+ $10)

Mei Tai vs Buckle Tai
A mei tai carrier is more adjustable to fit your body since you have complete
control over how snug you get the waist and shoulder straps.
I started making buckle tais for myself because I live in Portland, OR.
I Hated how dirty my straps would get everytime I had to put it on. I knew
there had to be a way to add buckles to the carrier so I wouldn't be dragging
or dropping the straps through muddy puddles while getting my daughter on.
I tried some SSC's(soft structured carriers) that are on the market, but
I Love the feel of a mei tai and I hated the thick waist that sits on your
hips. So I started drawing up patterns for the DC BT. I use my mei tais
for longer periods of carrying time and I keep my BT in the car for whenever
I need to just pop my daughter on my back. :)
You do have the option of having *just* the waist buckle or *just* the shoulder
buckles, leaving either the shoulder straps or waist straps to tie like
a MT.

Sizing for Buckle Tais & Mei Tais:
The Dream Carrier Buckle Tai is designed to fit most sizes. The shoulder straps are 18in long with 24in of additional webbing and the waist will fit from 26in to 48in.
Mei Tais come in one size, unless you order XL straps.
Shoulder straps are 69in long and the waist strap is one continuous strap
measuring 69in in total length.
XL straps would be up to 85in long(you choose the length).
